WebRTC
WebRTC is a standard that lets browsers carry real-time audio and video without a phone number or a plugin.
It is what makes a call button on a web page work, and what lets a voice agent be tested in a browser tab before any telephony is involved at all.
For agent development this is the useful part: the same flow, the same knowledge and the same tools can run over a browser session, so a change can be heard immediately rather than by dialling a real number and hoping.
