DNC (do not call)
A do-not-call list records people who must not be contacted, and checking it before dialling is a legal requirement in many places.
There are two kinds and they are often confused. A national or regulator-run register covers people who have opted out generally. An internal or tenant list covers people who told your business specifically to stop — and honouring that is usually the stricter obligation, because it is a direct request to you.
Practically, the check belongs immediately before the dial rather than at the point a list is uploaded. Numbers are added to these lists continuously, so a list that was clean when it was imported may not be clean by the time the call is placed.
