10DLC
10DLC is the US registration framework for sending application-to-person messages from ordinary ten-digit local numbers.
US carriers require businesses to register a brand and its campaigns before sending automated messages from a standard local number. Unregistered traffic is filtered or blocked, and the registration determines throughput.
It matters to anyone running automated telephony in the US even when messaging is not the main use, because the same registration and caller-identity machinery sits alongside voice. Which party is registered is a consequence of who holds the carrier account: bring your own carrier and the registration is yours to hold.
