A virtual receptionist that works from your own script

It greets callers the way you would, answers the questions you have given it answers to, and hands over the ones you have not. You write the script; it follows it every time.

Incoming call

What this is for

A virtual receptionist is usually a person in a shared office answering for forty companies. They are good at taking a name and a number, and structurally incapable of being good at much else, because nobody can hold forty businesses' pricing, coverage and diary in their head at once. It is not a question of effort. It is that they are shared.

What it does, and what it does not

  1. 01

    Follows the script you wrote

The greeting, the questions, the order they come in, the words you use for your own services. You author it. It does not paraphrase.

  2. 02

Answers only what you have given it

Hours, location, pricing, whether you cover an area, what you will not take on. Anything you have not given it becomes a handover instead of a best guess.

  3. 03

    Screens before it interrupts anyone

Sales calls, suppliers, and whatever else you have said to filter never reach the person you were protecting. The ones that should get through do.

  4. 04

    Never shares your line

It answers your calls, with your script and your knowledge. It is not holding a queue of other companies' callers while it does it.

Virtual receptionist: common questions

How is this different from a virtual receptionist service?

A service sells you a share of somebody's attention and a message-taking script. This is an agent configured for your business alone, which can answer questions and book appointments rather than only record that somebody rang.

Can it take messages the traditional way?

Yes. Message-taking is one branch among several. It just stops being the only option when the caller asks something specific.

Does it handle more than one call at a time?

Yes. Concurrent calls run in parallel, so a burst does not put your second caller in a queue behind your first.

Can I change the script myself?

The flow is edited in a drag-and-drop editor and tested in the browser. A change to your hours or your pricing is something you do, not a ticket you raise.

What does it cost compared with a receptionist service?

Per minute of call time rather than a monthly retainer or a bundle of calls. The cost tracks the calls you actually get.
