Versions
Edit an agent that is taking live calls without those calls changing under the caller.
A workflow is not one editable row. It is a sequence of numbered versions, and exactly one of them is live at a time.
- Draft — your in-progress edits. A workflow has at most one, and no caller ever reaches it.
- Published — the version real calls resolve against. Exactly one, once a workflow has ever been published.
- Archived — a version that used to be published. Kept, and readable.
The lifecycle
Creating a workflow produces version 1, already published. A brand-new workflow is immediately runnable, with nothing sitting in an unreleased state.
Editing a published workflow does not touch the published version. It creates a draft one number higher, holding your graph, configuration and template variables. Saving again updates that same draft in place rather than opening a second one — which is why the draft count never grows past one, however many times you save.
The published version keeps running, exactly as it was, for every real call while you edit.
Publishing
Publishing promotes the draft to published and moves the version it replaced to archived. The newly published version is stamped with the time it went live, and the workflow's live pointer moves to it — that pointer is what an incoming call actually resolves.
Publishing with no draft in progress is rejected. There has to be something new to promote.
Every option on the Test menu runs your draft, not the published version. That is the whole point of the split: you can hear an edit on a real call before a single customer does.
Forking
Duplicating a workflow creates a brand-new, independent workflow — its own definition, its own configuration, its own version history starting at 1.
What the copy keeps:
- Its lineage. The copy records which workflow and which version it came from, which is what lets the builder show Duplicated from [source].
What the copy does not share:
- Trigger paths. API Trigger nodes get freshly generated paths on the copy, so a duplicate's trigger URLs can never collide with the original's.
- Recordings. Those belong to the organization, not to one workflow's version history.
- Anything at run time. After the duplication the two workflows are unrelated. Editing one has no effect on the other.
Fork when you want to try a structural change without touching the workflow real callers are hitting, or to start from a known-good agent rather than a blank canvas.

Common questions
What is Woise?
Woise lets you build AI agents that answer and make phone calls and chat on your website. You lay out the conversation on a visual canvas, try it in your browser, then connect it to a phone number.
Do I need a phone number to start?
No. You can build and test an agent in the browser without one. When you are ready, connect a phone number and choose which agent answers it.
How does billing work?
You pay for the minutes your agents use, from your credit balance. There are no seat fees and no per-agent fees, so an agent that is not taking calls costs nothing.
Which languages can an agent speak?
Agents can listen and speak in more than 40 languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Tamil and Arabic. You pick the language and the voice for each agent.
Can an agent connect to my CRM or calendar?
Yes. An agent can look things up and make changes in 26 apps, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Calendar, Slack and WhatsApp, while the caller is still on the line. You connect each app once.
Do I need engineers to build an agent?
No. Everything is built in a visual editor, so you can create and change an agent without writing code. If your team prefers code, there is also a REST API and an MCP server.
What happens to call recordings and transcripts?
Every call keeps a transcript and its outcome, and audio is only recorded if you turn it on. Only people in your account can see your calls, and your account lives in the region you chose when you signed up.
What do I have to set up or run?
None. We run the speech, the language models, the recordings and the phone connections, and scale them with your call volume. There is nothing for you to set up or keep running.
